“ NINE TIMES OUT OF TEN, THE STORY BEHIND THE MISBEHAVIOR WON'T MAKE YOU ANGRY; IT WILL BREAK YOUR HEART." -Annette Breaux
THE REASON FOR NOWWRITINGMYTIME.COM
At first, NowWritingMyTime was a journal for me to process my thoughts through the treatment programs that characterized my teenage years. I wanted to shed light on the journey of many—those who were once considered "troubled teens" in the 90s—went through and how these experiences continue to shape our lives as adults today. Now in my forties, I am confronting the abuse I endured. As I begin to uncover the troubling realities of the teen treatment industry, I want to share personal reflections, insightful articles, and valuable resources related to mental health, trauma recovery, and advocacy for meaningful change within the troubled teen industry.
about me
Hello, I'm Cory, a survivor of the troubled teen industry. During my youth, I spent time in five different residential facilities from the ages of 13 to 18, and each of these experiences has left a lasting impact on my life. I kept these experiences to myself for 27 years.
Today, I am a proud wife and a stay-at-home mom to four incredible children, three of whom are triplets. Only recently have I come to terms with and gained a deeper understanding of my time in treatment. Writing has been my primary means of healing, and I have found purpose in my passion for this craft. Now, I am pouring my heart into NowWriting MyTime.

MISSION STATEMENT
NowWritingMyTime is my way of documenting what I endured during my years in teen treatment centers. By sharing my story, I hope to help not only someone else who may be navigating similar challenges but also myself as I finally release the weight of my toxic past.
I want to emphasize that while I share my experiences, I do not speak for all survivors. Each person's journey is unique.
